3rd Friday – May Paw Prints

This month’s theme is “Paw Prints,” a fan favorite that encourages bringing well-behaved pets along for a night out Downtown. Artists and crafters will line the streets and Wavvy Gravy will play rock music.

The Salisbury Maryland Kennel Club will be set up on the Government Office Building lawn for a “Get to Know Your SMKC” event. Festivities will include dog sport demos, presentations on safety around dogs, giveaways and educational materials promoting responsible dog ownership. The evening will culminate with a mini obedience session for dogs and their people.

3rd Friday attendees are invited to dine with their dogs at outdoor patios at The Brick Room, Market Street Inn, MoJo’s Urban Eatery, Mogan’s Oyster House, Brew River Restaurant & Bar, Mad Hatter Café/The Looking Glass, Evolution Craft Brewing, Two Scoops Ice Cream & Waffles and Roadie Joe’s. Brew River Restaurant & Bar will feature the On the Edge Band from 6-10 p.m. and DJ Tailor-Made from 9 p.m.-1 a.m.

The Wicomico Public Library’s Reader Van will provide a paw print craft, and Blackwater Apothecary will offer one-card tarot readings. 3rd Friday attendees can walk into Board & Brush to make their own paw-print-themed signs, and shop at SBY Home Décor for 15 percent off.

The Salisbury Art Space’s June exhibition, “By the Sea,” celebrates the Eastern Shore summer experience, allowing artists to share what they love about summer by the water. It is sponsored by the Whaley Family Foundation and judged by Julie Belloso. A special exhibition featuring The Attic Artists group will be on display in the Robinson Gallery.

The Salisbury University Art Galleries’ Downtown Gallery will feature an exhibition called “Kip Incheck: A Life’s Work and Legacy,” which includes Incheck’s artwork and a collection of masks. Proceeds from artwork sales will benefit the Cavallaro & Cleary Visual Art Foundation’s Scholarship Fund for students continuing their studies in the visual arts. A reception will be held June 16 from 5-7 p.m.

3rd Friday is a downtown economic development initiative and a project of the Salisbury Arts & Entertainment District, in partnership with the City of Salisbury. There is no charge for artists to participate, but advance registration is required.
